.: Music :.

This section is dedicated to my life in music.  It's so vast that I have trouble enumerating everything that I've done and been involved in, so for the purpose of this website I will just skim the surface.

At a very young age I was interested in being a performer and was quickly drawn into the music scene with the typical school band classes.  I started off just like any other school musician with the recorder.  That really interested me so I continued my music education with a clarinet.  It was a joy to get to express my love for music through honks and squeaks of a new clarinetist.  I am sure it drove family and neighbors crazy, but they all tolerated it and kept me encouraged.  I later became upset with the band director and decided that I didn't want to keep taking classes.  I did, however, keep playing and getting new books to teach myself how to play.  It wasn't until the 8th grade that I decided to give the class another chance.  I joined the marching band for high school, but was quickly encourage by the band director to try a more "manly" instrument like the baritone.  So, I obliged.  I played baritone and trombone for band but kept playing clarinet for myself.  I got tired of the games and decided to try out for the OVations Youth Orchestra on clarinet and trombone.  They said that I could play either of them, but I was better on clarinet and should continue working on it.  They also told me that the trombone and baritone would not be a good idea if I wanted to go professional on clarinet.  Thus the spark of being a professional clarinetist.

I kept playing in OVation Youth Orchestra for about 5 years.  Those moments filled me with excitement and took me on travels across seas.  Before my 18th birthday my life's dream was fulfilled.  I got to perform in the Sydney Opera House.  It was amazing.  Right after that trip was my first year in college.  I was hooked.  I went into Music as my major, graduated with a B.A. in Music Education K-12, and have kept active in the music scene since.  I want to do the professional clarinetist thing, but I've now done the financially sound thing and started a business career while keeping music in my personal life.

I will try to keep this updated and growing but will finish it for now.
